Change from your train to the DART and take a DART in direction Bray or Greystones. The closest DART stop to Grand Canal Hotel is the "Grand Canal Dock" Station. When you are leaving the station turn right and you will see the Grand Canal Hotel in front of you after 50m.

From the M50

Leave the M50 at junction 7 (signposted Dublin, Sligo N4), then at the roundabout take the fist exit onto the N4 (signposted City Centre). Continue along road and turn right at Wolfe Tone Quay. Continute onto Eden Quay and then Custom House Quay, keeping in the far right lane, turn right at R105. Continue onto Sir Rogerson's Quay (far left lane) and turn right at Cardiff Lane. Continue to Macken Street and turn left on Grand Canal Street Lower. Continue over canal bridge and hotel is on the right hand side. 

From Dublin Port

From Dublin Port Terminal turn left onto East Wall Road – R131. From the Port Tunnel exit toll and drive straight on to – R131. At roundabout take the first exit onto East Link Bridge – R131 (signposted Dun Laoghaire, N11). Toll (€1.70) to East Link Bridge. at the next roundabout take the third exit onto the R131 (signposted (N11,N81), M50). At next Junction 81 turn right onto Beach Road – R131 (signposted (N81)) and turn immediately left onto Church Avenue – R111. At next lights go straight. Go over bridge at next lights turn right continue forward on to Grand Canal Street Upper. The hotel is on your left.

By Bus
Dublin Port is served by public bus 7 days a week. The journey time between Dublin Busaras (Central Bus Station) and Dublin Port takes about 15 minutes in normal traffic conditions. You can take a bus to the city centre and there you change to bus number 18, 27X, 45, 5, 7, 7A, 7N, or 8.

From Dun Laoghaire Harbour

Upon leaving Dun Laoghaire Harbour, follow traffic signals and turn right onto Crofton Road (signposted All Routes)and bear left onto Newtown Avenue – N31. Go on following traffic signals and turn, firstly on your right onto Temple Road – N31 (signposted The North, The West, The South, City Centre), then continue forward onto Rock Road – R118 (signposted The North, Dublin Port), and finally continue forward onto Merrion Road – R118 (signposted City Centre N1, N2, N3). At Outer Orbital Route Junction 52, turn right onto Haddington Road – R111. At Junction 51 turn left onto Grand Canal Street Upper – R815 (signposted City Centre) and on your left you will see the Grand Canal Hotel.

By DART
When leaving the ferry terminal, go to Dun Laoghaire Station, a mere 5 minutes away. Take a northbound (towards Howth) DART to Grand Canal Dock Station. Grand Canal Dock DART Station lies opposite the hotel providing a direct route to the city and beyond.

By Dublin Bus
Dun Laoghaire is served by several bus routes. You can take buses 7, 7a, 8 or 45a which stop near Grand Canal Hotel. The closest bus stop for all these buses is in Lower Mount Street. When you leave the bus walk until the end of the street. On the first corner turn left and on the next one turn to your right. You will see Grand Canal Hotel on your right hand side.
