The Bord Gais Energy Theatre is located in Grand Canal Square, just a short 8 minute walk from the Grand Canal Hotel.

The Theatre has been in operation since 2010 and entertains over half a million people each year.

Calendar Girls

22nd January – 2nd February 2019

The smash hit musical comedy is coming to the Bord Gais Energy Theatre in January 2019.
The award-winning production, is based on the true story of the calendar girls - a group of ordinary ladies who achieved something extraordinary.
This marvellous musical comedy which received fantastic five-star reviews in London's West End now comes to Bord Gais Energy Theatre.

Motown the Musical

5th February – 23rd February 2019

Motown the Musical comes to Bord Gais Energy Theatre as part of its major UK and Ireland tour.
With music and lyrics from the Motown catalogue and book by Motown founder Berry Gordy, Charles Randolph-Wright’s production features a live orchestra playing 50 Motown tracks including Ain’t No Mountain High Enough, I’ll Be There, Dancing In The Street, Stop! In The Name Of Love, My Girl and I Heard It through the Grapevine and tells the story behind the classic hits.
Motown the Musical uncovers the true story of the legendary record label that changed music history and created the soundtrack of a generation.

Jersey Boys

6th March – 16th March 2019

Grammy Award-winning musical Jersey Boys is the remarkable true story of Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons and their rise to stardom from the wrong side of the tracks. 
These four boys from New Jersey became one of the most successful bands in pop history. They were inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame and sold 175 million records worldwide, all before they turned 30.  The show is packed with their hits, including Beggin’, Sherry, Walk Like A Man, December, 1963 (Oh What a Night), Big Girls Don’t Cry, My Eyes Adored You, Let’s Hang On (To What We’ve Got), Bye Bye Baby, Can’t Take My Eyes Off You, Working My Way Back to You, Fallen Angel, Rag Doll and Who Loves You.

War Horse

WAR HORSE will return to Dublin 10 – 27 April 2019 as part of its 10th Anniversary Tour.
At the outbreak of World War One, Joey, young Albert’s beloved horse, is sold to the Cavalry and shipped to France. He’s soon caught up in enemy fire, and fate takes him on an extraordinary journey, serving on both sides before finding himself alone in no man’s land. Albert, who remained on his parents’ Devon farm, cannot forget Joey. Though still not old enough to enlist he embarks on a treacherous mission to find him and bring him home.
Based on the beloved novel by Michael Morpurgo, this powerfully moving and imaginative drama, filled with stirring music and songs, is a show of phenomenal inventiveness. At its heart are astonishing life-sized horses by South Africa’s Handspring Puppet Company, who bring breathing, galloping, charging horses to thrilling life on stage.
